PRP therapy FAQs

Platelet-rich plasma therapy (PRP therapy) jump starts your body’s natural healing process, stimulating the repair of damaged soft tissues including muscles, tendons and ligaments.

What is platelet-rich plasma?

Plasma is the main component of blood. It’s a colourless fluid that carries your red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets around your body. Platelets are small blood cells that contain proteins and growth factors. They repair damaged blood vessels by forming a clot to stop the bleeding.

To produce platelet-rich plasma, a small amount of blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge. This causes the platelets and plasma to separate out creating platelet-rich plasma.
