Revision Hip Surgery
What is Revision Hip Surgery?
Continuous innovation and improved techniques mean that total hip replacement and hip resurfacing surgery last longer than ever before but due to wear and tear or an infection, some patients do go on to require one or both parts of their artificial joint replaced.
This is called revision hip surgery and can be complex.
Is it damaging to my natural bones?
I remove the components without causing damage to the remaining bone and insert new ones.
How long is the recovery after Revision Hip Surgery?
Patients should know that it takes longer to recover from hip revision surgery and the risk of complication is higher because it is considerably more complex than primary surgery and a higher level of experience and skill is required. I have carried out this procedure two thousand times during the last 20 years.
